Croome Court

๐Ÿ›๏ธ House๐Ÿ“ Croome D'Abitot

Croome Court in Worcestershire was the first major commission of landscape designer Lancelot 'Capability' Brown, who transformed what was waterlogged farmland into a sweeping parkland of lakes, temples and plantings that became his template for an entire era of English garden design. The Palladian mansion at its heart was equally revolutionary for its time. During the Second World War the estate served as a top-secret RAF base, adding another absorbing layer to its rich history.

Best for garden history enthusiasts, aviation fans and landscape lovers.
