Northumberland Coast
The Northumberland Coast is a long sweep of golden sands, dunes and low rocky outcrops backed by castles and old fishing harbours. The Trust cares for stretches of this designated landscape, where wading birds work the tideline and the wind keeps the beaches gloriously empty even in summer. Walk far enough and ruined fortresses, dune-fringed bays and views out to Holy Island and the Farnes string themselves together along the shore.
