Brimham Rocks
Brimham Rocks is a sprawl of bizarre gritstone formations scattered across heather moorland above Nidderdale. Wind, ice and rain have spent millions of years carving the stone into balancing boulders, arches and weird silhouettes that Victorian visitors gave names like the Dancing Bear and the Idol. Scramble between them and the whole place feels like a giant's abandoned sculpture garden, with long views over the dale below.
- Balancing rock formations
- Open heather moorland
- Far-reaching Nidderdale views
Best for families and scramblers who want a proper outdoor adventure among the rocks.
